Velocity WMS for iOS Privacy Policy

International Data Systems, Inc. ("IDS," "we," "us," or "our") provides the Velocity WMS for iOS mobile application (the "App") for use with the Velocity WMS warehouse management system. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.

Velocity WMS for iOS is intended for existing Velocity WMS subscribers and authorized users. A valid Velocity WMS account and server connection are required to use the App.

Information We Collect

The App collects and transmits information needed to provide warehouse management functionality. The information collected depends on the features used and the Velocity WMS server configured by your organization.

Information may include:

User account information, such as user ID, username, customer/account identifiers, and authentication/session information.
Warehouse transaction data, such as receiving records, shipment records, inventory records, order picking records, exceptions, notes, quantities, item numbers, location codes, LPNs, lot or serial numbers, and other operational WMS data.
Barcode scan data entered through supported scanner workflows, Socket Mobile scanners, SocketCam, compatible HID scanners, or manual entry.
Photos, images, files, and documents uploaded as receiving or shipment attachments.
Contact or address information if entered into supported WMS records, such as customer, ship-to, carrier, vendor, or related business record information.
Printer and connection settings entered by the user, such as configured service URLs and printer information.

How We Use Information

We use information collected through the App for app functionality and warehouse operations, including to:

Authenticate users and connect to the configured Velocity WMS server.
Receive inbound shipments.
Move and adjust inventory.
Pick orders.
Ship merchandise.
Create, update, view, and manage WMS records.
Upload, view, and manage receiving and shipment attachments.
Scan barcodes and validate warehouse workflows.
Print warehouse labels.
Create exceptions and notify warehouse personnel of workflow issues.
Provide support, troubleshoot issues, maintain security, and operate the Velocity WMS service.

We do not use information collected through the App for third-party advertising, advertising measurement, or cross-app tracking.

Photos, Videos, Files, and Attachments

The App may request access to the camera, photo library, or Files app so users can capture or upload attachments to receiving and shipment records. These attachments are uploaded to the configured Velocity WMS server and are associated with the applicable WMS record and user/session context.

The App uses camera access for attachment capture and for supported barcode scanning workflows.

Barcode Scanning and Bluetooth

The App supports barcode scanning using Socket Mobile scanners, SocketCam through Socket Mobile CaptureSDK, compatible HID scanners where supported, and camera-based scanning workflows. The App may use Bluetooth access to connect with supported Socket Mobile scanner hardware.

Barcode values scanned or entered in the App may be transmitted to the configured Velocity WMS server as part of warehouse workflows.

Biometric Login

If biometric login is enabled, the App uses Apple's Local Authentication features, such as Touch ID or Face ID, to help unlock saved login credentials stored securely on the device. IDS does not receive or store biometric data. Biometric data is handled by iOS and remains on the user's device according to Apple's security model.

Keychain and Stored Credentials

If a user chooses to save credentials, the App may store login credentials securely in the iOS Keychain on the user's device. Saved credentials are used only to support login to the configured Velocity WMS server.

Sharing of Information

Information entered or collected through the App is transmitted to the Velocity WMS server configured by the user or the user's organization. Depending on the deployment, that server may be hosted by IDS, by the customer, or by an authorized hosting provider.

We may share information only as needed to provide, operate, maintain, or support Velocity WMS; comply with legal obligations; protect the rights and security of IDS, our customers, and users; or as directed by the customer organization.

We do not sell personal information collected through the App.

Third-Party Services and SDKs

The App uses third-party technology to provide certain functionality, including Socket Mobile CaptureSDK and SocketCam support for barcode scanning. The App also relies on Apple iOS services and frameworks for features such as camera access, photo/file selection, Keychain storage, biometric authentication, and app distribution.

Third-party components are used to provide app functionality and are not used by IDS for advertising or tracking.

Data Retention

Warehouse records, attachments, and related operational data are retained according to the policies and configuration of the applicable Velocity WMS server and customer organization. Users or customer administrators should contact their Velocity WMS administrator or IDS support for questions about record retention, correction, or deletion.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information handled by the App. The App communicates with configured Velocity WMS services using network security mechanisms provided by iOS and the configured server environment. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Velocity WMS for iOS is a business application intended for warehouse and logistics operations. It is not directed to children.

International Use

Velocity WMS may be used by customers in different locations. Information may be processed or stored in the location of the configured Velocity WMS server or service provider.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we update it, we will revise the effective date above. Continued use of the App after changes are posted means the updated Privacy Policy applies to your use of the App.
